About the Experience

Scott Harvey has had a long and illustrious career in the wine industry.  As a European-trained winemaker, he began his career in 1974 and is considered (among his other accomplishments) a kingpin in establishing Amador County in the Sierra Foothills as an internationally respected wine growing region. Scott’s wife, Jana Harvey has used her vast marketing skills in the development and success of Scott Harvey Wines. Their warmth and experience brings an added dimension to their winery’s hospitality and their guests' overall enjoyment.

Over the years, Harvey has become known for his expertise in two specific grape varieties—Zinfandel and now Barbera—claiming the Amador region has some of the best in the world. Today, Harvey continues to produce exceptional wines under the Scott Harvey Wines label, using fruit from his estate vineyard and other top sites in the region. Scott remains a highly respected figure in the Amador County wine community and is known for his dedication to quality and his passion for winemaking
