A Relais & Chateaux property, the Bedford Post Inn’s history dates back to the Revolutionary War, when the main building, a Dutch Colonial farmhouse, served as a stagecoach stop on the main thoroughfare connecting New York City to Boston.
After serving weary travelers in the area as an inn during the 18th and 19th centuries, the historic building transitioned to a private residence for more than 100 years before becoming a hotel once again in the early 20th century.

Recently renovated, the intimate Bedford Post Inn houses just eight guest rooms, evoking the feeling of staying at a private residence. Each uniquely designed to welcome guests to a serene and romantic setting, the spacious accommodations are classically decorated in a colonial style, with luxurious bedding and modern amenities like heated bathroom floors and Bluetooth speakers.

The property’s 1762 farmhouse today houses the Bedford Post Tavern, providing quintessential American bistro fare created by Chef Sam Mason seven evenings a week. From breakfast through lunch, the converted Barn offers a casual classic menu, fresh baked goods, and spirits.
