Oceania Cruises® Oceania Sonata™ Floats Out Marking Major Construction Milestone for First Ship in New Sonata Class
Oceania Cruises has marked a major construction milestone for Oceania Sonata™, the first ship in its new Sonata Class, with the vessel floated out at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy. Featuring 695 rooms and suites, the ship has moved from dry dock to the fitting-out berth, where interior work will continue ahead of its debut in August 2027. Oceania Sonata will offer an adults-only environment, with one-third of accommodations being suites, including four two-bedroom Owner’s Suites, Horizon Suites, and Penthouse Deluxe Suites. The ship will feature 13 dining venues, including new concepts La Table par Maîtres Cuisiniers de France and Nikkei Kitchen, alongside established restaurants such as Jacques, Red Ginger, Polo Grill and Toscana.
Oceania Sonata will begin its inaugural season in August 2027, visiting more than 90 destinations across Europe, the Caribbean, the Panama Canal, Mexico, and Central and South America through April 2028.
