An alliance of unprecedented discovery

No matter how widely humankind has traveled into the Earth’s remote realms, there will always be new secrets left to uncover. New knowledge yet to be gained. And new revelations waiting to be experienced by those who seek inspiration via exploration.

Since its 1904 founding by the world’s leading explorers of the time, The Explorers Club and its members have achieved many such illustrious milestones: first to the North Pole, first to the South Pole, first to Everest’s summit, the deep ocean floor, the moon’s surface. And now, another new first appears on the horizon as PONANT EXPLORATIONS introduces our exclusive collaboration with The Club to offer a series of industry-first global expeditions and speaker events.

In this alliance, PONANT EXPLORATIONS features Hosts from The Explorers Club aboard the small luxury ships on unique weeks-long itineraries to the world’s most distant corners – from the Geographic North Pole to the permafrost expanses of Antarctica to the tropical rainforests of Papua New Guinea. The scientists are provided dedicated laboratories on board for their ongoing research in advanced disciplines including marine science, while guests are rewarded with firsthand insights (and wild tales) during on board lectures and offshore expeditionary activities.

While keeping with the bold, pioneering spirit of The Explorers Club, these will be journeys memorably enriched by the world-class level of seagoing refinement that only PONANT EXPLORATIONS can deliver.

BE PART OF HISTORY WITH THE EXPLORERS CLUB

The Explorers Club was founded in New York City in 1904 by a group of the world's leading explorers of the time. It is a multidisciplinary, not-for-profit organization dedicated to scientific exploration of land, sea, air, and space. It supports science research and education and has over 3,750 members around the world. In its history, the Club’s members have been responsible for an illustrious series of famous firsts: first to the North Pole, first to the South Pole, first to the summit of Mount Everest, first to the deepest point in the ocean, first to the surface of the Moon. Explorers linked to the greatest discoveries, such as Neil Armstrong, Jane Goodall, Edmund Hillary, and Roald Amundsen, are among its eminent members.
