Turn your next voyage into a journey of discovery. Guests can participate in hands-on citizen science projects, helping collect valuable data on climate change, wildlife populations, sea ice, and marine migration patterns while exploring some of the world's most remote and remarkable destinations.
Preparation is key for curious explorers. With limited connectivity in the remote regions we visit, we recommend downloading our citizen science apps before departure. Guests can then seamlessly contribute to research projects and enjoy engaging science experiences with our Expedition Team every step of the way.
Citizen science transforms exploration into discovery. Through our onboard Science & Education program, guests can contribute to real-world research while exploring some of the world’s most remote destinations, making every voyage both meaningful and memorable.
You will have access more than just breathtaking landscapes. Our purpose-built Science Centers bring destinations to life through expert presentations, hands-on activities, and immersive learning experiences designed to enrich every expedition.
The ocean covers more than 70% of our planet, yet much of it remains unexplored. Through HX's onboard Science & Education program, guests have the unique opportunity to contribute to real-world research while exploring some of the world's most remote destinations. From tracking whale migrations and monitoring phytoplankton to observing cloud formations and the northern lights, every voyage offers meaningful ways to support global scientific initiatives alongside our expert teams.
A voyage with HX helps guests understand each destination from different perspectives, with opportunities to listen, learn, and participate.

Every HX ship has a dedicated Science Centre or Science Corner, where guests can examine samples and use specialist equipment. They can also contribute to citizen science and, on selected polar voyages, help collect data from a Zodiac.
Each program is shaped by the destination and the experts on board. Subjects can range from wildlife, climate, and geology to history, anthropology, and culture.
On selected voyages, Cultural Ambassadors join the ship to share perspectives on the history, culture, and contemporary life of their communities. This helps guests understand a destination through the people who live there.
Photography sessions help guests develop their skills and make the most of opportunities ashore and on the water. Depending on the voyage, other workshops may cover navigation, knot tying, and arts and crafts.
We have partnered with key organizations that share our values and beliefs in protecting the natural world and work alongside them to support vital research taking place in some of the world's most remote locations.
