Since the 16th century, the greatest expeditions have constantly tried to reach the North Pole. This mythical geographic point inspires and attracts as much as it fascinates dreamers and conquerors seeking out the other side of the world. Following in the wake of Frederick Cook, Robert Edwin Peary or Roald Amundsen, who were among the many who fought to achieve this elusive goal, you will be part of the chosen few ones to attempt the odyssey, 700 km (435 miles) from any land.
In alliance with The Explorers Club, this voyage will feature onboard lectures by Peter Hillary, son of Sir Edmund Hillary and a renowned mountaineer with over 50 expeditions worldwide, from Mount Everest to polar adventures.
Opportunities abound to observe wildlife, including the possibility of the King of the North—the polar bear. You'll also search for walrus, humpback whales, orcas, and countless seabirds.
The Arctic landscapes are like no other; see for yourself as you get (proverbially) lost among the ice compression ridges, towering walls of ice, and majestic glaciers, each more monumental than the last. And, you may even get to see a glimmer of one of nature's finest shows: the Northern Lights.
Enjoy included activities, such as hiking and snowshoeing on the ice; kayaking and polar plunging; meeting with Inuit communities; and following your expert naturalist guides alongside for outings and shore visits via Zodiacs.

When travelers and trailblazers come together, something extraordinary happens. In alliance with The Explorers Club, PONANT EXPLORATIONS GROUP introduces a new era of guest enrichment—pairing intimate voyages with the insight of those who’ve helped redefine exploration itself.
On board select journeys, guests will travel alongside members of The Explorers Club—mountaineers, deep-sea divers, conservationists, and others whose work has shaped how we see the world. Their presence transforms each destination into a living story. You might trace the shifting ice of the Arctic with a polar scientist who’s charted it for decades… explore the rainforests of Central America with someone who’s uncovered its ancient civilizations… or learn from an award-winning photographer how documenting French Polynesia's marine ecosystems and local traditions can inspire the protection of remote lands.
These voyages span the farthest corners of the planet—from Antarctica to the Kimberley, the Seychelles to the Cook Islands—and invite a deeper connection to each destination. Through an onboard lecture series, engaging conversations, and immersive excursions, guests will engage with the world’s last frontiers in a way few ever do—gaining insights from those who've dedicated their lives to exploring them.
