Lisbon → Barcelona
Tour the Iberian Peninsula on a voyage around the coasts of Portugal and Spain. Your cruise begins in Lisbon, the dynamic Portuguese capital, which is capturing hearts with its exquisite architecture, great nightlife – and those delicious custard tarts, pastel de nata. Relax into life at sea for a day as the ship crosses the Spanish border to Cádiz. This beach city is a baroque beauty, where you can dine on some of the best seafood in Andalucia. Málaga comes next, another city graced with sandy shores. Find out about its famous son at the Picasso Museum. In Cartagena uncover the layers of civilization that stretch back here to 220BCE, including a Roman amphitheater. In Alicante, tuck into a paella – this is its birthplace – and go in search of a pirate’s lair at Tabarca. Castellon is the last stop before reaching Barcelona, the invigorating capital of Catalonia, your final destination.
Barcelona → Civitavecchia (Rome)
You’ll glide across the sparkling blue waters of the Mediterranean on this cruise, picking out some of the region’s jewels as you go. From the lively city of Barcelona, you’ll cross the French border to Toulon for fine sands and fine art. Glamorous Monte Carlo follows – can you resist a throw of the dice in the famous casino? Then, it's onwards to Italy and Livorno in Tuscany, gateway to Florence’s cultural riches and the vineyards of Chianti. Porto Santo Stefano offers a wilder view of Tuscany, then comes the palm-fringed waterfront of Olbia on the enigmatic island of Sardinia. Wave goodbye to Rome and set sail from Civitavecchia on a short tour that ticks off four countries – Italy, Greece, Montenegro and Croatia. Sorrento is the first port of call, heady with the scent of its lemon trees, then Siracusa on Sicily, to explore the delightful old town, with its ancient Greek and Roman ruins. Now relax and enjoy all that the ship has to offer on a sea day. Arriving in Greece on the lush, green island of Corfu, you can enjoy beaches galore and good walking along the pine-fringed cliffs. Next is Montenegro and the labyrinthine fortress town of Kotor, then Zadar on Croatia’s Dalmatian coast with its curious Sea Organ, a sound installation on the waterfront designed to let the waves to play music. Returning to Italy, there’s an overnight in Ravenna, an unsung city that is home to eight Early Christian monuments listed by UNESCO, before the final port, Fusina, gateway to Venice.
